The effect of eight-week resistance training and consumption of grape seed nanoparticles on mitochondrial biogenesis of heart tissue in the myocardial infarction model

Background and aims: The consumption of grape seed nanoparticles extract can control cardiovascular risk factors. Exercise plays a protective role against disease. Therefore, the aim present study was to investigate effect eight-week resistance training (RT) use on mitochondrial biogenesis heart tissue in myocardial infarction (MI) models. Methods: In this experimental study, 25 rats were randomly divided into five groups including (1) (C), (2) MI, (3) MI+RT, (4) MI+grape seed, (5) MI+RT+grape seed. MI induced by subcutaneous injection isoprenaline (85 mg/kg). Grape daily administered at dose 150 mg/kg for 8 weeks, RT performed 5 days week. Finally, data analyzed using one-way analysis variance (ANOVA) Tukey’s post hoc tests (P≤0.05). Results: models showed decreased expression PGC-1α, PPARγ, UCP-1 genes cardiac (P=0.001). However, combined with had significant increasing PGC-1α (P=0.001), PPARγ (P=0.002), (P=0.003) model mice.
